The "Advanced" menu enables you to add support for certain input file formats which are not supported by River Past software.
To add the file format support, the file must satisfy the following requirements:
1. It can decoded using DirectShow components in GraphEdit.
2. You know the filter class ID of all the components needed to decode the file.
An audio/video file should always contain a file reader. The file reader may work with a parser (or splitter) to seperate the video and audio data into seperate streams. This process is configured by the "File Parsers..." menu.
River Past software will use a list of video decoders and audio decoders to decode the video and audio data. If new A/V compression is not handled by River Past software, you can add your own decoders with "Audio Decoders..." and "Video Decoders" menu.
